Djembe Drum - Professional Quality Djembes and Hand Drums

The Djembe is a beautiful and powerful drum. Djembes originate from the old Mali Empire which is now most of West Africa. Traditionally Djembes are hand carved from a solid log of specific hardwoods. We carry some of traditionally carved djembe drums from Guinea, Mali, and the Ivory Coast. The carvers we use come from long lines of artistry and respect for the African culture, which encompasses largely music and dance. I am proud to present these beautiful African Djembes.

In addition to African djembe drums, RHD builds djembes here in the US (Charlotte North Carolina). We use local hardwoods from a local sawyer and build our djembes like no other. We design and formulate the shell to ensure the most efficient sound while staying true to the art and culture that surrounds the djembe.
