We repair torn or damaged heads, minor wood cracks, finish imperfections, rope wear, and can re cut bearing edges. We can bring new life to your Djembes, Dununs, Ashikos, and most any hand drum. Prices vary depending on job and drum size (see chart below for pricing).

Djembe or Ashiko rehead with goatskin:
A rehead consists of a new goatskin, and professional tuning. This is great if you have a top-notch shell or are really happy with the way your drum already sounds.

If your shell is dry, your rope is worn, the bearing edge hurts your hands, or you are just not getting that sound you want, let us take a look at the shell. Often the bearing edge along with improper tuning is the reason for a bad sounding drum. Make sure your drum shell stays hydrated or it will be more prone to splitting. We use 4mm pre-stretched, high strength drum rope. This rope will out-last a few re-heads if well taken care of. Loose rings are a major cause of overtones and constantly having to tune your drum. Snug, proper fitting rings will help to eliminate the overtones/ringyness and will allow your drum to stay in tune longer.
