RHD Purple Heart Kenkeni |

These Purple Heart Wood Kenkeni are built from 1/2" thick Purple Heart staves that we mill down from thicker stock in our shop to ensure uniform thickness. They are headed with thin Guinea cow hide with even thicknesses per drum side. We put a lot into these drums and it shows. They are loud and the highs of the Kenkeni blast through any ensemble.
These are custom built per order and usually take about 3 weeks. We have found that Purple Heart produces brightest and loudest sounding dununs. Rope color can be determined at time of purchase. Custom engraving is not included with the price below but we can work with you to put a logo, your artwork, or tribal designs on the kenkeni shell. The images are laser engraved into the wood, not painted or stenciled on.
