XL Walnut Ashiko

Our Extra Large Walnut Ashiko is made from hand selected, American Black Walnut wood. Each XL Walnut Ashiko is unique and hand-crafted. Walnut wood gives a bright tone and is a very sturdy hardwood. We don't use a lathe and shape the bearing edge and bottom groove by hand. We find this truly makes each drum one of a kind and adds our personal touch, which sets our drums apart from lathe turned, manufactured ashikos that are mass produced.

These drums are excellent in both craftsmanship and acoustics. Professional quality sound with deep bass, cracking slaps, and super nice tones. We chose this specific size for our XL shell because we find it gives the best overall performance for a large drum. The XL Ashiko is for the drummer looking for a louder presence and deeper bass.

Let us know if you'd like your drum tuned high or if you prefer a more laid back lower pitch drum. We'll tune it up before we ship it out. These ashikos take about 4 weeks to complete. Let us know what color rope and any custom options you can think of, ie rubber bottom, metal work, carving, etc.
